Ritual Howls Announces Upcoming Album - Rendered Armor

Ritual Howls, collaboration between Paul Bancell (vocals, guitar), Chris Samuels (synth, samples, drum machine), and Ben Saginaw (bass), premiered “Alone Together” the first track off their upcoming album Rendered Armor over on Flood Magazine today. And it is amazing. If the rest of the album is anything like this track, I know this is gonna end up being one of my favorite releases of the year.

“Alone Together” begins with a twanging Western guitar that immediately puts me in mind of pretty any old Western flick. And musically, the song is like the good, the bad, and the ugly meet some killer synth riffs in a high noon showdown.

With lyrics like “we’ll build an altar of sage, of bones and feathers” and knowing a little about the band’s literary influences, I would love to be able to read along with the song. And I’m evidently not the only one because they’re releasing the album alongside a 40 page hardcover lyric book that contains lyrics to every song they’ve released to date. So I’ll be picking that up alongside the clear/black splatter vinyl!

Rendered Armor releases March 22nd on Felte. Pre-release is available now on Bandcamp.

I’m a sucker for pretty vinyl.
